I feel really guilty for not writing in so long. I don't know how long it has been, but I'm really sorry about it. I've been busy with classes and school work, and when I'm not doing that, I'm either on a trip or sleeping. I was sitting in my bed last night at 10pm and felt really bad because I could have used that time to write a journal. Yes, I was in bed at 10pm on a Saturday night. I'm a bum.

Let me tell you about my weekend and then you will know why I was in bed so early.

Friday I went to Lincoln with everyone from the school. We got there around 10am and walked around for an hour or so. Then we saw an old cathedral. We also saw an old castle that had prisons and a chapel in it. I liked that place the best. I got to see where 39 executions took place. It felt weird to be in the prison, as well as the prison chapel because there were dummies sitting in the seats where the prisoners used to sit. We had lunch on the grounds of the castle. Then we went on a Roman walk. We just walked around and looked at about 5 different Roman ruin sites. We left after that and came back to the school.

On Saturday we went to York. Not many people went so we split up into small groups. I had 3 other people with me. We had the day to ourselves so we went to lots of different places. We saw the york minster, an old roman bath in the bottom of a pub with the same name.

We thought we were locked in the bath because we couldn't find a door that was unlocked. The last thing that guy who lets us in there told us was that it was haunted. Then we couldn't get out and thought it was a huge joke. Finally we banged on the doors so someone would let us out and the guy came to the door and showed us where the exit was. It was behind a dark corner so we didn't notice it in the first place. We definitely felt like dumb american tourists. Along with all that, we also went to an art gallery, saw a traditional dance festival, ate at a really good pub/restaurant, and found what we thought was a chocolate factory. York is famous for their chocolate factories and 2 are still in use. So, we asked directions to one and found it. There were Kit Kat signs on the building so we started taking pictures of it and planned on buying some good chocolate. You know how women and chocolate are. Well, we went inside of the place and it was your average convenient store. Again we felt like dumb tourists. Anyways, I had a great time. I enjoyed it more than Lincoln and London. The atmosphere was just more welcoming to me. I think I might go back there and shop.

So, that's why I was dead tired last night. 2 days of walking wore me out. I have to finish reading Henry IV now so that I can write a decent paper on it. I have tons more to write so expect more journals within the next few days. :) Bye-bye. courtney
